About Rainman

Rainman Records was founded in 1999 to create a home for quality classic rock music both old and new. Rainman's vision is to locate artists who have rights to their masters so that they can be remastered and/or re-released with bonus tracks and other enhancements to give the listener and fan an album of quality above and beyond the original release. Rainman will record new albums by those artists that are still active in the recording studio and as live performers.

Rainman's future releases will also include recordings by new and contemporary artists who's music reflects the taste of Rainman's owner and president, Ron Rainey. Mr. Rainey started his career as an agent with the Ashley Famous Agency (now ICM) in January of 1969, moved to the Agency for the Performing Arts in September of 1971, and opened the West Coast office of Magna Artists Corp. in July of 1973. Along with a partner, Rainey purchased Magna in 1974, and (as chairman of the board and CEO) ran the company successfully for eight years before selling to his partner in April of 1981. During his agent years, he represented such acts as The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Byrds, Chicago, Seals & Crofts, Kirs Kristofferson, Janis Ian, Harry Chapin, Chuck Mangione, Jimmy Buffett, Black Sabath, The Electric Light Orchestra, Ozzy Osborne, and many, many others.

In may of 1981 Mr. Rainey formed Ron Rainey Management, which is now in it's thirty fifth year. Management clients have included The Marshall Tucker band, The Blasters, and Blue Cheer, jazz great Tom Scott, Rita Coolidge, Jefferson Starship, The Fixx, Melvin Seals, and The Band among others. Current clients include the legendary John Kay & Steppenwolf, Kid Creole & the Coconuts and the estate of Alvin Lee. The rich experience of dealing with quality artists over the past 40 years has led Rainey to move to the next logical step of his career into the making and releasing of records to the world at large.
